Labour Embarrassment: Painful spectacle – Nick Robinson

April 29th, 2010 fitaloon No comments

BBC’s Nick Robinson’s take on the morning after BigotGate:

Birmingham: Brows furrowed, hands clasped tight, eyes betraying anxiety. That was Team Brown on the morning after the disaster before.

The workers who met Mr Brown in a factory in Halesowen looked somewhat embarrassed to have walk-on parts in this painful spectacle.

“Your firm’s doing well in China,”

the prime minister told one who was lined up to meet him.

Her reply?

“Our company’s doing very well everywhere, but I think it’s in spite of you.”

His wife Sarah, now constantly at his side – if only she had been in Rochdale – tugged at her husband’s sleeve to move him away and allow the smoother Peter Mandelson to deal with the awkward question.

The message this morning was clear: “Yesterday was yesterday; today is about the economy.” Oh, and, Gordon Brown was quick to add, about immigration too. And “I understand the concerns people have.”

Tonight was scheduled to be the moment Gordon Brown invited the public not to like him, but to listen to his warning about Tory economic plans. His worry must be: how many will be listening to him, and how many will treat him as he did Mrs Duffy and barely listen to a word he says?

Nick also has a P.S. where he states the bleeding obvious that Labour always leave our economy in an utter state and rely on the Tories to sort it out , No Shit Henry! Where have you been for the past couple of years whilst right thinkers told you this.

Nick Robinson of the BBC has a piece on the National Bullying Helpline

Christine Pratt of the National Bullying Helpline has been is the news with the release of the fact that No 10 staff have contacted the Charity, inevitably they have found some dodgy issues surrounding the charity, most damaging neing the links with it’s related Bullying advice business.

I’ll leave you to read Nick’s piece as it answers most of the questions.

To me it sounds like Christine Pratt is touting for business, but the central plank of her claim is still there, that No 10 staff contacted the helpline for help on bullying.

The Tetchiness of Gordon Brown

July 2nd, 2009 fitaloon No comments

Gordon Brown has a bit of a train wreck whilst being interviewed by “Toenails” Robinson  The tetchiness starts at about 1m 55secs into the interview when he squeaks

I’ve always told the truth, I’ve always told the truth

which is surely one of his biggest ever Brownies. After this he just turns into a bumbling fool. Watch and squirm at the inappropriate gestures and smiles throughout and then at the end realise that this man is truly our worst ever Prime Minister.
