Gordon Brown and the Northern Ireland Brownie

Brownie time again
According to the ever so partisan Guardian
Gordon Brown believes the Conservatives are endangering the Northern Ireland peace process by adopting a pro-unionist stance in breach of the bipartisan approach which dates back nearly 20 years.
So Gordon says the Tories shouldn’t make pacts with the DUP. I wonder who was the last person to make a pact with the DUP. Yes, the hypocritical Gordon Brown. As the Telegraph reported at the time
But his victory – which means Britain now has the toughest anti-terror laws in the Western world – ultimately depended on the support of the MPs from the Democratic Unionist Party.
Mr Brown was accused of doing backroom deals with the Ulster MPs in order to save his own skin and indulging in “pork barrel politics”.
Not only did he make a pact, but he actively “bribed” them with some not so little prizes to satisfy his own ego. This of course has rankled with Sinn Fein and may be a contributor to today’s problems.
Just another in a long line of Brownies from our esteemed Prime Minister.
