In One Week, Three Delusions from Gordon Brown

Three delusions in one week.

Gordon would have us believe he is a miracle worker, saving the World, saving the banking system, saving our Armed Forces, saving everything in fact.

But the truth is that this this sad man is utterly deluded. Three times this week he has come up with what appears to be major announcements, only for them to be shot down within hours, often by his own party.

First we had Brown deluding on Defence and how we was going to spend billions on all sorts of  hardware. Trouble was his delusions didn’t quite match up to the Defence Green Paper and look more and more like attempted bribery of Labour Heartlands rather than a commitment to the real needs of our Armed Forces.

Second we had Brown deluding about the NHS and how he would provide free personal care at home  scuppering a fair, sensible and long-term plan for care of the elderly and despite the fact that experts and even his own Minister Andy Burnham had agreed the plan was impossible. Gordon will apparently be deluding further on this tomorrow when he will promise personal nurses for all cancer sufferers despite the NHS kitty being empty and facing large cuts.

Third we had Brown deluding on him being the Great Reformer. In fact all we had was him being a power-seeking hypocrite of major proportions. His non-action on the three sleaze-ball Labour MP’s is just beyond belief.

So all in all a good week for major delusions. Minor delusions were rife as well, but I would be here all night. A read of the Observer today should give you a good insight into some of them, as it has five “puff” pieces, that really demonstrate why the Guardian and the Oberver are going out of business. Journalism at it’s worst.
