No Defence for the Lib Dems

Two days ago in Parliament there was a debate on Defence though you’d be hard pressed to know from the details in the media.

The Lib Dems apparently didn’t realise either. A total of two spoke in the debate. Alan Beith to ask one question and Nick Harvey their supposed Shadow Minister who seems to know little apart from the fact he has Devonport near to his constituency.

Please note this is how much the Lib Dems care about Defence and Afghanistan

My mind goes back to the “Defence in the UK” debate of 26 March, when we heard from three Government Back-Bench speakers, seven Conservative Back-Bench speakers and no Back-Bench speakers from the Liberal Democrats. Today, we have heard from five Government Back-Bench speakers, 11 Conservative Back-Bench speakers and, once again, no Back-Bench speakers from the Liberal Democrats. [Interruption.] I am asked why not, but I am afraid that I can provide no enlightenment on that.

I repeat NO LIB DEM backbencher has spoken in the last two debates of Defence. This is truly shocking and despicable.

Unusually, we have had two days in…: 15 Oct 2009: House of Commons debates (TheyWorkForYou.com).
