Groves captures MasterChef crown

Steve Groves was praised for his broad knowledge of cooking techniques

I’ve been watching this for the past few weeks and it has been a real hit in the household.

Three finalists who all had a genuine love of cooking and could all have won, but Steve just took the biscuit with some of his creations. I would love to eat in a restaurant he runs and wish him every success.

Makes the other competitions like Strictly and whatever the other one is called look stupid.

Steve Groves stood out from the rest at the begining as a chef with that little bit extra. He has care, and flair to his cooking.
I wish him the very best, and hope that he opens up his very own restarant in the near future.

You’re looking for a free meal, I can tell FL. :) Actually I too thought he was the best. We watched it too. Pity some of his techniques didn’t rub off on my now-and-again dinner maker.

Pasta’s his speciality using that awful Lloyd Grossman’s stuff.

I have to confess I now watch almost no ‘reality show’ type programmes so did not watch this. However, as I have gleaned that you are a sensible and civilised fellow (shameless sucking-up :) ) from your blog, can I nominate myself as an additional guest for any reservation you may make at a restaurant he opens? Or at the very least a heads-up on where his culinary expertise may be found when you know this yourself? Mind you, I’d obviously have to book an hotel close by so I might enjoy a decent glass of wine with my meal, without worrying about driving afterwards. I’m a pretty good amateur cook myself, and at least if I’m not driving I can open a bottle of decent wine at home, so I now tend to take the easy way out and eat at home except on special occasions when an hotel or a taxi is warranted.

Bumped into Steve in a London restaurant. Didn’t get the chance to say how great i thought he was – what a talent and dedication. Am also from Essex – what part is he from?
