No Let Up in Afghanistan for our Armed Forces

Always and Forever

Always and Forever

Sadly whilst I have been on holiday our Armed Forces have been badly affected by deaths in Afghanistan. The total deaths has now risen past the 200 mark. Sadly a number of the incidents appear to be of the same type where an initial casualty is followed by others as comrades try to save their fellow soldiers.

Those killed were:

Sgt Simon Valentine, Fusilier Simon Annis, Fusilier Louis Carter, and L/Cpl James Fullarton, of the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.

Pte Richard Hunt of the 2nd Battalion the Royal Welsh.

Lance Bombardier Matthew Hatton of 40 Regiment Royal Artillery.

Rifleman Daniel Wild and Capt Mark Hale of 2nd Battalion The Rifles.

Pte Jason Williams of the 2nd Battalion The Mercian Regiment.

My thoughts are with their family and friends.

The BBC reported the deaths as follows:

Three UK soldiers killed in Helmand.

UK Deaths in Afghanistan pass 200.

Soldiers died helping colleague.

Soldier Died retrieving comrade.
